The Centre – Casa Florescu
Casa Florescu is a small “manor house” that will be converted into a 12 bed respite care centre. Children will be admitted for “planned” episodes of care to give their parents or carers a break from caring. The aim will be to improve their physical condition as well as dealing with any emotional and psychological problems. The first floor will be used for administrative/support purposes.
The Annex adjoins the manor house and will provide an “assessment unit” for children, a play therapy centre, a school for special needs and a sensory room. The building is already partially renovated but will be adapted for its purpose once the manor house will be restored.
The Chapel Building was the first building to be restored and has been operational for the last 4 years. It is currently serving as a venue for the HOSPICE summer trips for sick and bereaved children and volunteers from Romania and UK.
The Granary was the second building from the centre that has gone through a restoration process. It can provide 6 accommodation units for families with a sick child who needs emergency accommodation.
The Barn will house the education centre for health care professionals and family members and activity workshops for rehabilitation purposes. It will also host the pioneering Tech House, where children will benefit from the latest forms of therapy through technology.
